Semipurified rotavirus inactivated by gamma irradiation.

Taxonomy: Rheoviridae/Rotavirus/Rotavirus A/Simian rotavirus SA11. Virions consist of a capsid, a core, and a nucleoprotein complex. Virus capsid is not enveloped. Capsid/nucleocapsid is isometric with icosahedral symmetry and has a diameter of 80 nm. The genome is segmented and consists of eleven segments of linear double-stranded RNA. Rotavirus is the most common cause of severe diarrhea among children. The incubation period for rotavirus disease is approximately 2 days. The disease is characterized by vomiting and watery diarrhea for 3 - 8 days, and fever and abdominal pain occur frequently.

Inactivation & Safety — Each lot of rotavirus antigen is inactivated using gamma or ultraviolet radiation and this inactivation verified using a sensitive tissue culture based infectivity assay.

Applications — Positive control in lateral flow (rapid) assays.  IgG and IgM detection in immunoassays including EIA with polystyrene, latex, nanogold and/or iron solid phases using different detection systems (colorimetric, chemiluminescent.

Ordering Information
— Limited to 10 units per online order.  For any larger orders, contact us through our link at the bottom of the page.

Each antigen lot is tested for potency using ELISA, and compared to a reference antigen. This ensures the amount of viral protein in each batch is consistent. The total protein concentration reported includes both viral and non-viral proteins, with the ratio dependent on the purity of the antigen. View our Quality Policy and ISO Certification.
