Facility Cleaning Technician
Description: The Facility Cleaning Technician role provides specialized cleaning of laboratory facilities and equipment in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing chemicals and scheduling equipment for cleaning. Autoclaving and sterilization of waste is also part of this job. The goal is to keep our building in a clean and orderly condition.

Continually monitor and adhere to the cleanroom cleaning schedule and ensure all cleanings are completed promptly and correctly.
Performing and documenting routine cleaning activities
Routine incubator disassembly, cleaning and reassembly
Equipment cleaning & sanitization
Accurately measure and prepare cleaning & sanitization chemicals
Operation of autoclave for glassware and waste sterilization, including appropriate gowning for entry into biocontainment area.
Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs.
Stock and maintain supply rooms.
Follow all health and safety regulations.
Disposal of waste
Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner
Must be able to perform physical work for extended periods of time
Perform other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time
Knowledge, skills and Education:
Secondary school diploma or equivalent
Previous relevant laboratory support experience preferred
Good written and communication skills.
Able to bend and kneel down for extended period of time
Capable of lifting up to 25kg
Ability to work independently and as a team
Ability to identify and resolve areas of conflict or concerns.
Must become familiar with cleaning chemical components and safety requirements.
This is a night shift position, candidate must be available to work extra hours or change schedule as required.
Candidate must have a Canadian citizenship or possess a Permanent Resident card
Candidate must have a reliable transportation to the job.
Must be able to pass medical and background check.
